Who and What is involved? Charbonneau’s EPPS Committee is coordinating with Pacific University School of Pharmacy, in conjunction with Albertson-Safeway pharmacies, to give flu shots here in Charbonneau. Pacific University School of Pharmacy believes in outreach to serve community health. In that spirit, they will have pharmacy students and preceptors at our flu clinics to provide FREE BLOOD PRESSURE and GLUCOSE TESTING to anyone who wants it. They are looking forward to being here.
What about cost? BRING BOTH YOUR INSURANCE CARDS AND MEDICARE CARDS to the clinic, as they will bill for the costs. According to the flu shot coordinator, it is safe to say that anyone with insurance will be covered for the flu vaccine. (update: Kaiser has declined participation with ANY outside partner. Kaiser patients must go to a Kaiser facility for their vaccine.) Bringing a photocopy of your cards would be helpful to them. Adult and Senior doses of influenza vaccine will be available.
What about COVID shots? There are new COVID shots and boosters that may be approved soon, but it is not yet known whether they will be available at this clinic. We will send out email and web notices if this changes.
If you have questions, feel free to email EPPS committee member Sue Swanson: nurseswan@aol.com
