Charbonneau Pickleball Club is Official as of 2022! Our membership is growing continually in 2026 and beyond. Pickleball is currently only open to Charbonneau residents.
Building 2 of the Charbonneau Sports Center was constructed in 2024, and has two tennis courts, each overlayed with two pickleball courts, for a total of four pickleball courts that are open year-rounmd: since 2025, you are able to play indoors regardless of the weather.
Some of our members have been enjoing pickleball in Charbonneau for over 5 years. We have an active group of players of all levels who are happy to welcome you into the club.
Do you want to find out why pickleball is such a fun and fast growing sport? Are you ready to bring the skills you already have to the courts? Either way, come join us! We offer tours of the facility for new or potential members, and once you join, we have beginner sessions, open play, round robin, and reservable court times. We also hold fun, social events from time to time. Visit the Activity Center office to pick up your membership form, or call 503.694.2300.
Please welcome Mike Ilg, Charbonneau’s new Pickleball Instructor. An IPTPA Level II International Pickleball Teaching Professional, Mike is enthusiastic about helping
players improve their game. Drawing on his experience as a ski instructor and ski race coach, he developed a teaching style that emphasizes strong fundamentals, skill progression, and confidence building—principles that translate naturally to pickleball.
With a racquetball background and four years of pickleball experience, Mike enjoys collaborating with players of all levels in a fun, supportive environment. His goal is to help players build strategy, improve technique, and develop a lifelong love of the game.
Mike has been a pickleball instructor for over two years and has enjoyed being part of the pickleball communities in Sunriver and Portland.
