  • 9:17a The Great American ShakeOut
    Start: 9:17am-9:47am
    Details:
Contact your HOA Emergency Preparedness Captain for more information.Get Ready to DROP! COVER! And HOLD ON!On Thursday, 10/17 at 10:17AM, Charbonneau will be participating in the Great Oregon ShakeOut drill! Why is it important to do a Drop, Cover, and Hold On drill? The Oregon Office of Emergency Management reminds us: “To react quickly you must practice often. You may only have seconds to protect yourself in an earthquake, before strong shaking knocks you down--or drops something on you. Practicing helps you be ready to respond.•If you are inside a building, move no more than a few steps, then Drop, Cover and Hold On:oDROP to the ground (before the earthquake drops you!),oTake COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table, andoHOLD ON to it until the shaking stops.Stay indoors till the shaking stops and you are sure it is safe to exit. In most buildings in Oregon you are safer if you stay where you are until the shaking stops.•If you are outdoors when the shaking starts, you should find a clear spot away from buildings, trees, streetlights, and power lines, then Drop, Cover and Hold On. Stay there until the shaking stops.•If you are driving, pull over to a clear location, stop and stay there with your seatbelt fastened until the shaking stops. Once the shaking stops, proceed with caution and avoid bridges or ramps that might have been damaged.Ground shaking during an earthquake is seldom the cause of injury. Most earthquake-related injuries and deaths are caused by collapsing walls and roofs, flying glass and falling objects. It is extremely important for a person to move as little as possible to reach the place of safety he or she has identified because most injuries occur when people try to move more than a short distance during the shaking.Look around you now, before an earthquake. Identify safe places such as under a sturdy piece of furniture or against an interior wall in your home, office or school so that when the shaking starts you can respond quickly. An immediate response to move to the safe place can save lives. And that safe place should be within a few steps to avoid injury from flying debris.”Homeowner Associations participating in the drill will hand out free raffle tickets to residents taking part! Each HOA will have prizes to award! REMEMBER: In any disaster, your most immediate source of help are the people living around you! Join your neighbors! Additional information is available in the clubhouse.

    Details:
WilsonvilleSTAGE to Perform at CCC in OctoberWilsonvilleSTAGE is pleased to announce the upcoming performances of the play “SYLVIA,” written by A.R. Gurney, and directed by Aaron Morrow.Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg's career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate's career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park—or that has found him—bearing only the name "Sylvia" on her name tag. A street-smart mixture of Lab and poodle, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. She offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age. To Kate, Sylvia becomes a rival for affection. And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn't understand the relationship between man and dog. The marriage is put in serious jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives. --Dramatist Play Services--"I can only call it one of the most involving, beautiful, funny, touching and profound plays I have ever seen…" —NY Daily News. Come see the story unfold at Charbonneau Country Club for four performance: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2:30 & 7:30, and Sunday, Oct. 27, for a matinee at 2:30 p.m. For tickets go to wilsonvillestage.org or purchase tickets in the CCC office. Tickets are $18 general admission and $15 for seniors.
